Do you know these knowledge points of Syringe Needle Shield?
The knowledge of
Syringe Needle Shield is:
Object of invention is to provide an operational and cost-effective shield for a hollow-bore steel needle. This shield provides positive grip and protection from blood-borne infections.
Suitable shield can be manufactured from puncture-resistant plastic. This shield can be retrofitted onto a conventional syringe. The shield has an elastic body and can be flexibly shaped to conform to the barrel of the syringe. This shield is suitable for use in a variety of applications.
The shield is provided with a body 4, a pair of flexible elongated arms 6, and 8, and a cap 28. The body 4 has an inner surface 14 that is shaped to substantially conform to the barrel 18 of a typical syringe. A cap 28 is held in a cap holder 36 by a thumb screw 38. The cap 28 can be withdrawn from the holder when released. The cap 28 is positioned over a saddle-contoured support 42 for the plunger 24.
The shield can be slidably installed over the needle and provides a frictional grip. The shield is a conical shield. The leading end of the conical shield is closed and the trailing end has a circumferential trailing flange 51. The flange 51 is rhomboid in shape. This shape prevents the conical shield from rotating.
During manufacture, the interface between the needle and syringe hub will have an adhesive bulge. The adhesive bulge may be present on both sides of the needle/syringe hub. This adhesive bulge will make contact with the skin of the patient during injection.
