Precautions For Use of
Syringe Plug Mold:
Precautions for Use
Before a syringe is assembled, the stopper on the end of the plunger must be present, the correct shape, and free from particulates that can cause contamination. The plunger stopper also needs to move smoothly in the barrel while preventing leakage or contamination.
Plunger Tip Selection
Syringes have a variety of tips that can be used to dispense liquids or bleed air. Common tips include a slip tip, shown above, used by people tapering off psychiatric drugs; and a flat or domed tip, typically seen on syringes for injections.
Measurement Line Markings
For accurate syringe measurements, the measurement lines should be in milliliters (mL) and fractions of a mL, such as 0.1mL, 0.2mL, and 0.5mL. If the measurement lines are printed, they should be covered with clear packing tape to prevent them from rubbing off during handling or storage.
Defect Detection
A syringe plunger stopper can have a large variety of defects. These can range from torn ribs, liquid between the ribs, or creases from the stopper's insertion into the syringe barrel. These defects can interfere with a syringe's functionality, and can lead to an error when calculating the amount of liquid inside it.
