Common mistakes in the use of syringes!
1. Improper selection of syringe model
According to the size of the syringe capacity, there are 1ml, 2ml, 5ml, 10ml, 20ml, 30ml, 50ml and other different types of syringes to meet the aspiration of different doses and different properties of drugs. Usually small-dose drugs choose small-capacity syringes, and large-dose drugs choose large-capacity syringes. However, in clinical work, in order to improve the speed and efficiency of drug liquid suction, large-capacity syringes are often used to draw small-dose drugs. situation happens. Because the large-volume syringe has a larger body cavity area, larger nipple and needle dead space, it is more likely to cause waste of medical solution. Taking 1ml liquid medicine as an example, using a 1ml syringe, the residual amount is 0.07ml, using a 5ml syringe, the residual amount is 0.09ml, using a 10ml syringe, the residual amount is 0.10ml, and using a 20ml syringe The residual amount is 0.11ml. It can be seen that with the increase of the capacity of the syringe, the residual amount can reach 7% to 11% of the total liquid medicine. Especially when using special therapeutic drugs and expensive drugs, the larger the residual amount, the easier it is to affect the effect of drug treatment, and the more likely it is to lead to waste of medical resources.
2. Improper choice of syringe needle
Different models of single-use syringes come with needles of different sizes. Usually the larger the capacity of the syringe, the larger the size of the needle. However, in practical work, small-volume syringes are often selected for the suction of micro-drugs, and the needles of small-capacity syringes are too small, which is not conducive to injecting drugs into liquid bottles or liquid bags. Taking insulin injection as an example, in order to ensure the accuracy of the dose, 1ml syringes are used for suction, and the needles of 1ml syringes are usually 4 or 4.5, only 1.6cm in length, and soft in texture. When insulin needs to be added to the bottled liquid, because the cork has a certain hardness and thickness, the needle is often bent and cannot be injected, or the length of the needle is not enough to break the film under the cork, which directly leads to the failure of drug injection or The local retention of the drug affects the effect of drug treatment.
