What are some knowledge points of Virus Sampling Tube?
Virus sampling tube is a product that is applicable for collection and transport of virus samples, including bird flu, hand foot and mouth disease, measles and other viruses. It is also adapted for Chlamydia, Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma specimens.

Designed and validated to collect, preserve, and transport virus clinical specimens from the collection site to a testing laboratory. Each sterile tube contains a viral collection device and transport medium vial.

Sterile tubes are typically made of premium medical grade plastic and may contain buffered proteins and antibiotics that suppress the growth of potentially contaminating bacteria and fungi during transportation to the lab. Additionally, some tubes contain glass beads that assist in releasing and dispersing the sample into the media during centrifugation.

BioSci(r) Virus Sampling Tubes are intended for the collection, preservation and transport of virus, chlamydiae, mycoplasma and ureaplasma clinical specimens from the collection site to specialized laboratories for testing. Each sterile tube is manufactured from polypropylene with a taper bottom design that bears static extrusion, dynamic impact and centrifugation.

Viral swabs can be used to collect various types of virus samples from the skin, mouth and throat. They can also be used to collect conjunctival scrapings and genital swabs, which are particularly effective in collecting viruses that are in vesicles on the surface of the skin.

Several different types of VTM are available, including conventional models (Model FB and FBY), inactivated models (Model MB and MY) and direct extraction models (Model DEB, DEY and DPB). Inactivated Models lyse the clinical specimens and release nucleic acids for RT-LAMP or ELISA based virus isolation and detection. Several of the inactivated models are formulated to inhibit RNase activity, while others are formulated for direct extraction, which allows for efficient lysing and nucleic acid release with no guanidine salts.
